I became a photographer because I love photographing people. And especially those close to me. Ashley is the daughter of my forever BFF from high school. While her mom Michele and I don’t see each other often, when we do it is like no time has ever passed. Although I did see Ashley when she lived in the city and was little, i haven’t seen much of her since. She reached out to me recently and asked if I would take a few photos for her. Of course I said yes!
Mountain Adventure elopements and Sessions
I always love to shoot the other end of the coast and haven’t been to Gibsons, BC to photograph anyone for a while. Besides, I do have a big engagement shoot coming up so wanted to scout out some locations! And I had just the location in mind for an adventure mountain session! Most importantly, having a fun bubbly sidekick to shoot and put in the spot I wanted to photograph was an all around “hell yes” from me!
I have to say, it takes a little more creativity to shoot just one person as opposed to a couple. Hello! Props are always welcome! They help tell the story. That is what I am always striving for, telling stories through beautiful photos. It was a last minute shoot, and Ashley doesn’t have a dog (my personal favourite prop) and we didn’t have much time to plan. So – I decided that a piece of Salal would do to add some interest, but hot chocolate would have been perfect too! I think the photo of her holding it is so PNW – Am I right?
Sunsets are amazing on the Coast!
And that sunset right? Isn’t the Sunshine Coast BC amazing! I mean, Holy Smokes were the clouds lit up! Most importantly, did you know there are plenty of scenic locations on the coast to have a mountain adventure story? And Besides, there are just so many locations for adventure and creating a mountain adventure story here on the coast that it blows my mind! More reasons to chose the coast for adventure!
