Hi, I’m Sherry Nelsen—a Wedding Photographer and Elopement Planner based on the stunning Sunshine Coast, BC, where I live with my husband of 34 years! Our life has been one big adventure, full of love and spontaneity, which we’ve passed on to our four kids as they chase their own dreams. Now, it’s my turn to dive into my own passion as a photographer and artist!
I’m at home in the great outdoors, whether it’s on our farm or by the ocean—I’d much rather be out in nature than in the kitchen (though I did bake banana bread once, and my husband’s still impressed!). You’ll usually find me riding horses, barrel racing, mountain biking, or hiking through the forest, letting the beauty around me fuel my creativity. My goal is to capture timeless, epic moments that truly reflect who you are, so that when you look back at your photos, you feel those moments all over again.
Before I transitioned to a full-time adventure elopement and wedding photographer, I spent years as a personal trainer and, although I know they don’t seem to go hand-in-hand, it actually helped me learn to find the best angles and poses while being able to direct my clients on how to move. This makes for some incredible pictures. That, and I know the coast like the back of my hand, so I know all the sweet spots for the best scenery and the best hidden gems. Lakes, beaches, forests—wherever you want to go—I got you! During your elopement, surprise proposal, engagement session, or wedding, we’ll hang out, walk around and have some fun and, because I’m not only creative, but intuitive, I promise you’ll feel like we’re best friends who could swap life stories over a couple of Coronas (my fave).
